..but I need another weekend, stat, only quieter this time.

We had friends coming over, and this was the first time in years since they'd gotten together (last time was mainly pre-kids), so there was a lot of anticipation, a lot of cleaning ahead of time, and a lot of catching up to do. One has a little girl, about 7, who is unafraid, inquisitive, and adorable. They arrived first, and Sonny was showing off with his new water cannon thingie that his idiot Nannie got for him, so I murmured to the little one that I had another water pistol and would she like it? She nodded yes, so I went in, filled it, and snuck it out to her for a surprise attack on Sonny. They went off, running around the house, soaking each other happily.

When the next friend arrived, with her son -- about the same age as the little girl -- the kids all sort of stared at each other, until someone mentioned the magic word "Wii". That galvanized them into trooping inside to play baseball on the Wii for the next hour or so.

While the former lab partners talked at high speed, I went to get lunch from one of the many pollerias around. The adults had chicken, rice and beans, yuca, and fried plantains for lunch while the kids played more Wii. We went out for a drive around the "downtown" -- it's changed a lot in the past ten years -- and then to dinner at a Thai restaurant. By the time we finished and escorted the remaining friend to her hotel, it was pretty late.

We met up with them again at the Zoo, spent the entire morning following the kids around the exhibits, drove back up to meet Honey for lunch after her church meeting, and then they left for home and we collapsed at home.

The house is cleaner than it's been in a while, so that's all good.

Then, this morning we had an appointment at the Y for our son to get "training". They now let 11-15 year olds have access to some machines, following specific training, and they must then wear a blue wristband at all times, plus they have to have an adult with them. No problem! We haven't been able to get back to the gym because of him, so now he becomes part of our workout. Also, he gets more exercise and this is all good.

So I spent 15 minutes on a bike, running around 95 RPMs, and then 20 minutes on a treadmill, going about 18-20 minute mile pace. I am now very tired, and I've only just started the day.

I can haz weekend nao?

Oh, and I bought the Wii Fit for us to use at home. I can hardly wait.
