That's pretty good news, for the entire class of a rez high school to be going to colleges and universities. They deserve some helping hands, too -- don't you think?

I started looking around at the other sites posted on LJ, and discovered the Pine Ridge Reservation site. They post information about the Oglala Lakota College, which has a program to train people in the construction trades. They ask for donations so they can provide their graduates with the basic tools of the trade. Personally, I prefer to make donations of this type, as it allows the recipient to be empowered rather than to be become dependent on others. I only wish there was some way to donate anonymously, as that is considered to be a "higher" mitzvah than donating publicly (which is ostentatious and so, frowned upon in Judaism).
