Happy New Year, and all that
Jan. 3rd, 2008 05:26 pmOn vacation for a few days, to use up the remaining vacation days -- nice to be at home while everyone else is at work, in stark contrast to my being at work during Christmas week.
So, went shopping at the Giant Warehouse Store, upon request, and found a stash of compact fluorescent bulbs that indicated they were safe to use in recessed lighting, which is not common. So I bought some, and have installed the replacement bulbs in the two places where our New bulbs had already blown. So far, so good: nothing exploded when the lights were turned on. The ceiling is still not on fire. The CFL bulbs do not dim, but that's to be expected. I can deal with not-dim bulbs. ;-)
Angel hair pasta is cooked, the leftover zucchini is nuked for final consumption, and the leftover cauliflower is also nuked for consumption -- although if the aromatic compounds in the cauliflower are too aromatic, they will be unceremoniously dumped. No loss, as no one was remembering to eat them anyways.
Dogs are self-fed (at least one of them: whomever found and ripped open the bag of diabetic management food AGAIN). I may feed them dog food at dinner time. The cats are so much better behaved, and will get plenty of gooshy food. Even Buzz, our problem cat.
::twiddles thumbs, whistles aimlessly::
Nope, ceiling still not on fire.
