Well, the weather sure knows how to make life exciting.

We finished watching "Space Cowboys" at 11pm, went out for one more round of shoveling (or, as Ex said, "another stab at shoveling"), came back in covered with snow, got ready for bed, and then -- at 11:45 pm, the power went off.

It surged on, went off, surged, and then stayed off. We have plenty of flashlights, so we got our tea and said our goodnights. She had the fire (in the fireplace) to keep her warm, and I had my bed.

I used my cellphone to call the electric company and report the outage. The automated message indicated that they should have power back up in about an hour. I suspect it was probably 2-3 hours, but the light came back on as they promised.

Now to see how much more snow we collected, with the storm not even done.. At least my class was canceled.
