Is it Wednesday already?
Jan. 26th, 2011 12:51 pmI seem to have already used this title for previous posts..oh, well, at least I'm consistent. Ex always used to loudly proclaim it "Hump Day!", but meaning only that we were half-way through the week. No double entendres for her.
Miss Kedgie Princess is back to sleeping next to me at night, which is lovely. She's not overgrooming herself, so the hair is starting to grow back, and her appetite is strong. She continues to consume her half-tablet without issue, which is why she's not so mad at me anymore.
The kittens continue to grow like growing things. Spot/Cleo -- the female -- is slinky and sneaky; she likes to slide under the covers, although she doesn't care which layer she goes into, which makes finding her an exercise in localizing the lesion. Also, when her brother decides to join her under the covers, and he also doesn't care which layer he goes in, we can all end up in a huge tangle of sheets. Consequently, I have learned to not throw back the covers en masse, but to gradually peel off the layers until I have identified and located each kitten. Anthropology, how I dissed you!
The FG continues to be fabulous. The other weekend, we were chatting, as one does, and she mentioned being bisexual -- quickly assuring me that she was now strictly lesbian -- and I replied that I didn't care what she found attractive, as long as she was monogamous. This led into a discussion of why the lesbian community is so hostile to bisexuality, which makes little sense to me (see: monogamous). By the way, if this comment sounds familiar, it's because I'mstealing quoting Lois McMaster Bujold (Cordelia's response to someone's comment about Aral being bisexual, "Was bisexual. Now he's monogamous."). I really don't care what her experience has been, as long as she's happy with me.
I find myself pulling up the photo of us with a bird on my head, just so I can gaze admiringly at her smile.
Anyway!
Snow here today, with a promise of it getting worse around 4 pm. Naturally, as a designated "emergency employee" I don't get to leave two hours early, and as a veterinarian I never get to telework. Both the Ex and the FG are working from home. Not the same home. FG has already emailed me to let me know of her plans to go cross-country skiing in the neighborhood tonight, assuming the snow holds up. She is about the only grownup who is looking forward to all this snow...LOL
