This evening, BT had finished all of this morning's offerings, but before she would even touch her dinner, she required pettings.

"PET ME. NOW. MORE. AGAIN."

I had no choice. I scritched her neck, her ear, her chin, her shoulders until she leaned so far over she was lying down.

And then, she was ready to eat.

Everyone else stuck their faces into their fud as fast as I could get the spoon out of the way.

Cagney, my youngest canine, has this ritual we must go thru before he eats his morning & evening meals. While I'm filling up each dog's dish with dry food, the girl dogs wait patiently, while Cagney barks his head off. When I put all 3 bowls down, the girls vacuum theirs, but Cagney just looks at his until I get closer. Then he resumes barking his tiny head off. After some coaxing and some shoulder scratching, he finally starts eating.

Either he thinks it'll taste less good, or he thinks that if he doesn't fight for it, he isn't a real man... I mean... dog.

I gave Spirit half a can of wet food yesterday and wondered how she'd do with the cold half today, but she slurped it right down.

Most of the time, my cats are fine with the cold leftovers, although Brady and BT can get picky. In those situations, I mash up the fud or add some water to it.
