I'd taken this week off when we thought that Son had no camp this week (silly Honey miscalculated and he's still in camp). Day One was lost to a migraine that wasn't the most painful (and grateful I am for that) but still caused enough mental fog that I spent the day mainly sleeping. It left during the night, so when I woke this morning, I was back to my chipper self.

So, this AM, Son walked the dogs and then requested that he be allowed to walk to camp from home. Bye, dear! I perused emails, worked out on the Wii Fit, shopped a bit, and went over to the Red Cross to donate blood. For that effort, I got a bottle of juice and a t-shirt -- and an excuse not to work too hard for the rest of the day. Oh, I plan to clear out the closet so I can get started on the new shelving unit..but I'm just out of energy right now. I should be better later.

Soon, I have to pick up the Son from camp and the sandwiches from the deli. Son has a Scout meeting and Honey has another one of her all-important church meetings at the same time (luckily, in the same location), so after dinner I'll watch them leave the house again.

I miss vacation. I've been teaching seven days now. Make it stop. Please?

I'm sorry about your banger, but better a migraine on vacation than at work. Migraines suck in general, so I hear, so better you get them in a comfortable setting, where you can just crash until it blows over. *hug*

Ah, but if you didn't have the joy that is your job, you wouldn't appreciate your vacations as much. As in, "it feels so good when I stop hitting it". ;-)

Aren't you teaching some motivated kids this year?

Thanks -- migraines are indeed more tolerable at home, but sometimes no matter how much it hurts, I go to work anyway.

Or 'the beatings will continue until morale improves'.

Higher-level? Mostly, yes. Motivated? It's a crap shoot.

Of course, you could say the same about me--higher level? Definitely. Motivated? Um, just enough that I don't get fired.

Is Frydy nao?

Yes, that too.

It's a shame the kids aren't motivated or working hard to learn math. I wish there was some way to wave our magic wands and poof! they'd be motivated to try harder, at least. Believe me, we motivated our son to do his math homework all summer, and it's done. We've got to check it for errors, and finish his three book reports, and then it's back to school for him next Tuesday.

Ah, September. I used to look forward to it. New pencils! New notebooks! New clothes! Old friends!

U can haz Fryday nao.

Why does "I Wish I Could Go Back to College" from Avenue Q run through my head almost constantly?

(2) Bummer, dude. ::passes around the ibuprofen bottle::
(3) I haz a happee too. New shelving in our re-purposed closet, now for linens! (Old coats banished to the upstairs bedroom.)

It used to be a coat closet, but this week I removed all the hanging items, sawed off the pole (old wooden one, nailed in place), and put in an InterMetro 25"x64" metal shelf unit. Now we haz a linen closet. Honey haz a happee, too.

I used to take Tylenol and aspirin (together -- they synergize each other's effect) and later switched to ibuprofen.

What is this cowbell of which you speak? And why would I want any musical cows when I have a fever or migraine?

;-)

'Coat'? What is this 'coat' of which you speak? ;-)

From an SNL sketch..."I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell." But I think you already knew that. Tease.

It's what your wife wears after the sun goes down, because she's chilly. You, of course, being a manly man, scoff at such unmanly things.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I have any knowledge of this "SNL" person to which you refer. :-P
