So this is Arizona. The landscape is austere, and different.

Pork carnitas tacos were tasty, though.

Walked around for a bit, didn't see any snakes or roadrunners.

Early night and then the meeting begins!

Yup. 'austere' about covers it. Aside from a few mountains, and the odd awesome sunset, it's some of the most boring landscape this side of Kansas and Nebraska. The drive from Yuma to Gila Bend to PHX is incredibly boring. Outside of PHX, unless you have satellite radio, the mountains block most decent radio stations.

Roadrunners are mostly seen running across highways, so you prolly won't see them in the metro area, and I've never seen a snake in all the time I was there. You may see a scorpion, but since I've seen a total of about 3 in the 25 years of desert life, I wouldn't count on it.

But, yeah, the Mexican food there is of a much higher quality than just about anywhere else. One of the perks of being a local is knowing which places to avoid, and which out-of-the-way places have the absolute best grub.

The landscape was quite beautiful on the drive to Sedona, although wildlife sightings were thin on the ground. I can't count the pair of cows browsing near the highway, but i did spot a hummingbird. Also: wild lemons! Managed to catch one of those wily beasts.

Lots of "fusion cuisine", often "with a southwestern" flavor, etc. Tasty, though. *urp*

Love the hummingbirds! They're so cool to watch, like feathered mosquitoes with ADHD!
