Sunday Evening Post
Jun. 14th, 2009 05:34 pmTonight was the selected evening for the partaking of grilled meat, so I mixed the ground beef with onion, garlic, cinnamon, and parmesan cheese for the Chef de Grille. Even though I made one patty of the double-thick size, she still managed to make it a medium to well done burger when I prefer rare..oh, well. At least she made some S'mores for us.
Sonny had a slight reprieve on his last Spanish assignment (worth 30 points) and has been working on it all weekend, so now it is done and hopefully well enough done that he gets most of the points. He also takes the written portion of his final, kindly rescheduled by his teacher from last week.
This week is the last two days of school, and then he's not exactly free for the summer. We waited until just now to sign him up for the camps, and his summer school. The camps will start on the following week, and then summer school runs through July -- those are half-days, and I'll have to pick him up around lunch time-ish to bring him to my office for homework and extra work. Since they don't offer a Spanish class in summer school, he's SOL on that class -- he'll have to take first year Spanish all over again in high school.
The sun room has been rearranged slightly to re-accommodate a litter box, which Kedgie and Brady have immediately started using. I cleaned out the area under a desk in the far corner, put down some heavy-duty plastic, and placed the litter box back there. It's next to a window, but in a corner for privacy.
Brady really likes that room and spends as much time as he can out there, now that the smell of Cinder and BT is out of there, or at least much diminished. [Those two are ensconced in the basement, where it is cool in the summer (which the sun room is not), and I may allow them the entire basement if we can rearrange some things in the shop.] He gets to watch the birds in the thick bushes and all the traffic going by.
Kedgie, on the other hand, has discovered the pillows on top of the dresser, which are next to the window. She lies there in the morning, basking in the gentle glow of sunlight and occasionally watching birds.
