Day One of Vacation:
Wake at 3 am to drive wife to airport so she can visit the grandkids. Return home, nap, then go to dental appointment that my wife made for me - nay, *insisted* upon, because she likes this new dentist. Home again, nap again, then off to do car seat inspections because it's Thursday night.

Day Two:
Fail to sleep any later than 6:30 because cats are hungry and stomping all over me. Get haircut, cookies, and six-pack of Unibroue for department holiday party. Eat late breakfast (delicious), then almost late to party.

Day Three:
Give up on sleeping in because cats. Go to Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, then back home to scoop litter boxes, reset wifi, and help Ex with paperwork for our son's healthcare.

Meanwhile, my wife is eating mango sorbet, watching the wild chickens wander, and visiting the grandkids.

Which gods have I offended?

I'm wondering why you didn't tag along. although mango sorbet and chicken-watching are 'way over-rated...

Yeah, S'more used to crawl on top of me every morning at 5 am, loudly insisting I feed her NOW. Even if I filled her bowl the night before. Bad enough she was trying to kill me by walking between my legs...

Aren't you supposed to shave Unibroues? *rimshot*

Serving pancakes or eating them? Great, now I'm hungry for pancakes...

Oh, and we got a Harry and David catalog in the mail today, and I thought fondly of you. :)

Well, we did discuss my tagging along, but it seemed like this trip really ought to be just her. (Behind-the-scenes family drama, yadda-yadda, and I'm not that into sunlight. BTDT on a different tropical island.)

Cat wrangling is why I shuffle around the house. That way, when they dart into my path their subsequent trajectory is fairly linear, and their velocity is only minimally accelerated.

U never heard of Unibroue beer? The beer drinkers of my acquaintance recommended it, and even I can find something drinkable. It's a Canadian brewery in Quebec. (Note: there's nothing wrong with having, shaving, plucking, or waxing a unibrow. To each her own. Tabarnac!)

Boy Scouts serve and Kiwanis produce, but I eats pancakes and sausages. They were tasty, and now I'm hungry.

Harry and David for the tasty win!

Yeah, family drama, even on a tropical island setting, still sucks the fun out of a vacay.

Mmmmmmm...pancakes sound soooo good right now...

U never heard of Unibroue beer?
Non-drinker, remember? :)

I hear/read people online and irl talk about single-malt this and IPA that and micro-brew the other thing, and it just goes in one ear, etc. Besides, I'll take a good caffeine buzz over alcohol any day.

Ninja is bonding even more to me, for some reason. Prolly because I'm the only one that feeds/waters/plays bouncy-ball with her. Wonder how she's going to take to Arya when she arrives today.

i'm not much of a drinker either, but I do listen to others who like beer. Besides, how could I resist a name like Unibroue?

Hope Arya is settling in and Ninja isn't too mad about it...
